Litha in the Pagan Wheel of the Year is Midsummer Night - the time around Summer Solstice when the fae folk come into our world to give blessings and thanks for the summer abundance of plants, fruits and vegetables.

This three-cornered vessel is a nod to those thickly hazy warm summer evenings when the heady scent of lavender wafts over from patio pots and neighbours' gardens, hanging in the air until morning.

Litha celebrations happen all over Sussex, with Morris dancing and fiery torches at sunset, woodland walks and sundown swims. Cissbury Ring and Chanctonbury Ring are particularly associated with Midsummer faerie folk.

Part of a series of vessels on the theme of The Wheel of the Year.

Approx dimensions: 20cm W x 7cm H
