'Equilux 1 - Sun' - Handcrafted Kiln Formed Glass Bowl

The term equilux refers to the specific days when the duration of daylight and nighttime are exactly equal, each lasting 12 hours. This event occurs twice a year, a few days before the spring equinox and a few days after the autumn equinox.

The surface pattern technique used to create this pieces allows colour and light to transmit through the vessel, evoking the harmonious balance of light and dark experienced during the sun equilux.

The interplay of colours and light within the glass captures the essence of this natural phenomenon, creating a visually stunning and serene piece that reflects the beauty of equal day and night..

Technical notes: Sheet and powder glass. Three firings. Dropped through a handmade aperture. Coldworked by hand.

All pieces include a dedicated box with protective packaging. Each box holds a card with care instructions on the reverse.
