These distinctive bud vases are handcrafted from a section of Padauk driftwood found on the beach in Ferring, Sussex in 2023.
Padauk is a rare and exceptionally dense tropical hardwood known for its deep red heartwood and natural durability — perfect for objects meant to last a lifetime.
The exterior of each vase has been left exactly as the sea shaped it: weathered, textured, and full of coastal character. In contrast, the cut interior faces have been hand-finished and French polished, revealing the rich red tones and fine grain that Padauk is loved for. The combination of raw, natural exterior and refined, glossy interior creates a striking visual contrast that makes each piece completely unique.
Each vase includes a central opening suitable for a single bloom, dried stems, or reed diffusers.
