She represents the unpredictable nature of bodies of water and may choose to protect those who respect her or conjour storms and capture the souls of those who don't.
She appears in stories both human and mermaid form and has a penchant for sea treasures - gold, pearls and coral - reflected in the colour palette and design of this piece.
