Oval form, textured bowl, evoking the Spring woodland floor with its carpet of plants, flowers, leaves, berries, fungi and lichens.
In the Middle Ages, Healers (usually women), would use their knowledge of local flora and fauna to make remedies to heal the sick. Many if not most of our medicines today are derived from plants, with different species and colours giving us different compounds to work with.
Sussex has several large areas of ancient woodland that are home to a number of trees with particular connections to ancient Healing practices promoting protection, fertility, luck and strength - Hawthorn, Birch, Rowan and Oak.
Approx. dimensions: 23.5cm W x 9cm H
Technical notes: Sheet, crushed and powdered glass. Four firings. Dropped through a handmade oval aperture. Coldworked by hand.
- All pieces include a dedicated box with protective packaging.
- Each box holds a card with care instructions on the reverse.
- Handwash in warm soapy water (not dishwasher safe) or dust with a soft cloth.
